New Custom Munny: Ace!

So after losing Franken Tiki 1 to the dreaded mold making experience. I went ahead and made Franken Tiki 2.0.

Franken mug one was destroyed because I tried to make a 2 part mold using rigid materials when apparently im supposed to make a soft mold first then a hard mold. Still learning. hope this round goes better.

He’s already for the mold making process. Which i will document with pics as best I can.

Update: After some failed mold making attempts I decided to just paint the guy and look for a ceramic studio to recreate the mug. I have talked to one already but plan on talking to a few to see about him getting mass produced. This version will probably not look entirely like the produced one as it will be glazed and the weird splotching on the back from the stupid sealer wont be there. I hate sealers…its always the last thing that needs to happen to a piece but always seems to mess things up.

Got my next Maqet designs in the mail today! These are my demon kitty figures and they are ready to kick you ass. I feel like these came out clearer than the neon neko figure. The only issue is the standing one needs a base ( the one in the pics is kind of makeshift for the pics.) Here it is my first fully 3d printed figure. Shes about 4 inches tall, powdery white and ready for paint. I’m so excited to see this figure in reality. You may recognize it from my previous 3d concept design for the character. I’ll update when i get her painted.

Pics from my latest Tiki Mug featuring a rather skinless Frankenstein’s monster. I just fired the sculpey so next I’m going to be making the silicon mold. Then im going to try and make some ceramic mugs to sell at the store. I will document the trials and tribulations of this process as best I can if anybody wants to follow along. I will also be painting this one after I make the mold and update this with new photos once that is done.

thats the link to the page its on. Im gonna be posting more pics, a character breakdown, a you tube turnaround and a step by step through the process. This is a lot of firsts for me. First attempt at sculpting something, first use of resin, first time cutting, drilling, cooking, a vinyl figure. I dont think the pics really do it justice but im proud of it.  More pics after the jump…

Second toy design of the series… Had it sitting on my machine for a while but wanted to do a couple final touches to it. Got sick and blah blah blah. Anyway I think he’s a good twin to rock-a-betty. He’s pretty inspired by the guitar wolf movie wild zero… but still a donut original. I think ill shop around a series once I have a good number of designs finished.
